McAleney's New Meadows Lobster was founded in 1952. Initially, the company supplied a few restaurants and supermarkets in the local area. Over the last decade, we have grown to become one of the larger lobster distributors in Maine, not only supplying northern New England's largest supermarket chain, but fine restaurants all over the country, as well.

New Meadows Lobster is owned by Peter and Kathleen McAleney. Not only is the owner's son, Matthew, involved in the daily operation of the business, but many of our employees have been with us for more than 15 years. The loyalty that our employees have shown us is the same loyalty they show to our customers.

The McAleney family has had a presence on the Portland, Maine, waterfront for over 125 years, and they plan to maintain that presence for a long time to come. Peter McAleney was recently elected as the President of the Maine Lobster Dealers Association, and he and his staff have been deeply involved in issues involving maintaining the lobster population for future generations.
