How to Cook a Maine Lobster
Boiling is the most common way to cook Maine Lobsters.
1. Fill a pot (large enough to comfortably hold the lobsters) 2/3 full of water. Bring to a rolling boil over high heat.
2. Place lobsters head first into the pot, mostly submerging them. Cover the pot and return to a boil.
3. Once second boil is reached, cook lobster for 15 minutes depending on size/number of lobsters.
4. When the lobster shells turn bright red and the antennae pull out easily, the lobsters are done.
Note: These cooking times are for hard shell lobsters; if cooking soft shell lobsters, reduce boiling time by three minutes.
